Home Groups
"...and breaking bread from house to house, they were taking their meals together and with sincerity of heart, praising God and having favor with all the people." (Acts 2:46-47a)
Home Groups are two hour weekly gatherings of families and individuals in various homes.
Purpose:
To foster deepening relationships in building friendships, family & faith through a five prong approach:
1) Fellowship
2) Prayer
3) Worship
4) Bible study
5) Missions
Prong 1 - Bible Study
A teacher will lead the Home Group through a study in the Word of God each week. The nature and length of the study will be determined by the Home Group. For example, one group may choose to do a Bible study on Parenting, while another may do word studies.
Prong 2 - Fellowship
Both those who call Living Stones their church home and guests will have time to get to know one another through activities and visiting. Children are a vital part of Home Group, therefore each week will include a special children's time/activity by a fellowship coordinator in each Home Group.
Prong 3 - Worship
Worship time in each home group will vary. One group may have musical gifts and lead the group in singing. Another may have artistic gifts and worship through the arts. Sky's the limit in how home groups choose to have a weekly time of worship as led by the worship coordinator.
Prong 4 - Prayer
A prayer coordinator will be appointed for each home group. This person will maintain an ongoing list of prayer/praise items for the group to lift up to the Lord.
Prong 5 - Missions
Each home group must cultivate a heart for looking beyond itself. To that end, each home group will have a missions coordinator to help the group with the following:
- Develop and engage in a plan for reaching neighbors with the love of Christ and Gospel message.
- Engage in a local or regional mission project 2 to 4 times per year.
- Adopt at least one missionary family to promote in the group and in the church at large.
